In those first few weeks after your baby arrives you may want to stay at home with your new family, bonding and spending some quality time together. Some parents feel pressurised to see all their family and friends in those first few weeks which can lead to a feeling of overwhelm - try to hold your boundaries by explaining the situation and managing expectations.
Once life begins to settle down again you may want to start seeing your family and friends a little more and maybe feel it’s time to get out and about in your own community.
If you’re a first time parent, it can feel daunting, but there are many friendly and welcoming groups to join where you will meet other parents with similar experiences of becoming a parent. Look for groups and activities available in your local area or online forums.
